I have read many pregnancy books but would emphatically say that The Pregnancy Book is truly THE PREGNANCY BOOK! It is practical, easy to read, thorough and contains excellent information. The explanations of the changes a woman undergoes during pregnancy gave me a very clear idea of what to expect and why. I enjoyed the descriptions of the developing fetus and I found the quotes from real-life women to be thought provoking and very true-to-life. The description of the labor and delivery process was the most accurate of any book I have read to this point. I was able to use some of the tips during my own delivery and have no doubt they helped to make it go more smoothly. The Pregnancy Book is an excellent resource and I highly recommend it to anyone who is expecting - whether it's the first time or the fourth. For a great book for couples to read, try We're Pregnant!, a down-to-earth look at the pregnancy experience from the perspective of both the expectant mother and the expectant father.

You find out you're pregnant, so you need to read. I did too. After reading the reviews on the various books, I ordered this one and can honestly say, the reviews don't lie.

This book is extremely informative and pleasant to read. It has lots of information, without being overwhelming. I read this book at least three times over the course of my pregnancy and was happy to have done so. I was prepared for just about everything that came my way. Most normal side effects of pregnancy are described in various degree of detail, but in a way that does not make you worry or scares you.

The book is broken down by month and within each month into various subchapters that are loosely the same for each month. So it's easy to look up something that's ahead of where you're currently reading.

It also has additional information, like breastfeeding basics and excellent tips to help you through labor contractions.

I found this book very helpful throughout my pregnancy and I look forward to reading it again for future pregnancies. It is well written and nicely illustrated for better understanding.

I thought this was a great book to start off with. Dr. Sears and his wife lay out the general information in an easy to read format. While this is not the only book in my prego-library, I do find myself going back to it over and again. I don't think there's one be all end all book. Yes, there is a lot of repetition in the various Sears' books but each seems to build upon the others.
