In my opinion, this book included way too much VB code of questionable value. If you wnat to learn about data mining, look elsewhere. If you want to use the Microsoft code libraries to manipulate the analysis services object models, this book might be helpful.
It seems to me that the author could have done a better job with the statistical concepts. Noteworthy are the formulae for standard deviations (p.328) which just did not seem to jibe with the actual calculations in the example.
