Unbelievable and Fascinating: Photos, Stories, & More
Rating: 5/5
This book was a big surprise in every sense of the word. After reading numerous books about Madonna I can say this one pretty much sums up the most important aspects of Madonna's professional and personal life and includes beautiful color pictures to see her transformations. This book is fairly large in size and heavy to carry which make it a nice collectors item. The very first few pages give you her birth name, confirmation name, height, weight, shoe size, and even how you pronounce her name. It has what many other books fail to include a touch of class!
Madonna's persona in each of her era's is described in the utmost of taste with only relevant and crucial information for fans to enjoy from her early beginnings to her latest and most recent developments. In between chapters there are sections that talk about her fans, the foods she eats, her managers, other bands with whom she interacts, and even close-ups of her make-up and clothes. There are also small photos of other celebrities like The Spice Girls, Alanis Morissette, Goldie, Britney Spears, George Michael, Marilyn Monroe, Cindy Crawford, Niki Taylor, Janet Jackson, and Anna Nicole-Smith. You get to see Madonna in an array of costume changes from each concert, video, and footage as well as photos of her daily activities like bike riding or simply applying lipstick. I was very impressed with the information about Madonna's most recent developments with Guy Ritchie, their son Rocco, and Lourdes. Although each chapter of her life could have been much more thoroughly examined like in other books this one managed to sum everything up in a nice format to make it easy to sit and read. Highly recommendable for fans, collectors, and anyone who wants to know more about the Queen of Pop and well now the Queen of Dance & Electronica!
Madonna Has Style!
Rating: 5/5
I just received my copy of this book yesterday! It's a visually stunning retrospective of Madonna's inimitable style and her incredible influence over fashion and pop culture over the past twenty years. The photographs included in this collection are beautiful and capture the true essence of a woman that transcends mere superstardom and is in a class entirely by herself. This book is definitely a must-have in all Madonna fan's collections. Also check out Matthew Rettenmund's Encyclopedia Madonnica & Michael D. Craig's Who's That Girl?
