Kay Hooper's books are always just the right mix of intrigue and romance. "Whisper of Evil" is a fine addition to her series of books about psychic FBI agents and the killers and love they find along the way.

The heroine of this installment, Nell Gallagher, returns home after a 12 year abscence to stop a killer who is taking out townsmen with dark secrets. Her cover for being in town is that she is tying up lose ends after her father has died. She left her home and her true-love Max, the night of her prom 12-years earlier and never contacted anyone from that night, until the day her belated return home.

The problem I have with the book is that there are too many threads. Hooper is trying to tell too many stories in the space that she has, and the love story gets short changed. Yes this is a suspense forsenic psychic murder mystery novel, but it is a romance, and I would have liked the romance to play a more central role.

Psychic Nell Gallagher ran away from small town Silence, Louisiana right out of high school. Now it's twelve years later, she's an FBI agent and she's back under cover to try and stop a killer. Circumstances have her dealing with her old boyfriend, Rancher Max Turner, who she left in the lurch all those years ago. Though the romance is there, it doesn't sizzle off the page, this book is more a thriller and it's loaded with secrets we're eager to uncover along with the characters.

Kay Hooper has written a five star winner with "Whisper of Evil" I loved the book and can hardly wait to go on to "Sense of Evil"

I loved this book. Im not much into books and this one is my favorite. I think other people should read this book if there into the kinda of books that keep you guessing.
