I'm not sure where Sophie Kinsella will go with this series after Becky inevitably has a baby in the next book (Shopaholic Drives the Carpool?) but Shopaholic Ties the Knot was a quick, fun read. I've read the first two books in the series, but I think you would enjoy it even if you haven't read them. This book actually gets a little deeper than the first two, with Luke (Becky's ever-patient fiance) having some real issues with his cold mother. The main plot, of whether Becky should have her wedding in New York or London, is pretty insubstantial and it's fairly easy to figure out about halfway through which side of the ocean is going to win out. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and look forward to Kinsella's next book about Luke and Becky. Actually, I don't know if Becky is really even the Shopaholic in this book.... she seems to have cut down a little on her spending.

I'm giving this one 4 stars only because the extra star would give it Bridget Jones quality, which it is not. Grab this one for an airplane ride or a day at the beach. The time will pass quickly.

Another great read from Sophie Kinsella!!!

Although Shopaholic Ties the Knot doesn't hold true to the previous two books as far as the character, Becky Bloomwood shopping debt - it is still funny (LOL) that you will enjoy.

Becky is torn b/w having the "wedding of the century" at the Plaza Hotel in NY or the small, intimate ceremony back home in England. As both parents of the couple plan the wedding in NY/England, Becky can never find just the right moment to tell the other that the plans are cancelled. Does she really want to have to decide b/w her mother's wedding dress or a Vera Wang?

As usual, Becky makes excuses and can never find the right time to tell her Mother that she's decided to get get married in NY and vice versa, she can't seem to tell Luke's Mother (who is paying for the entire wedding) that she really wants to get married in England.

In a twist (that I figuered out) Becky and Luck get to have the best of both worlds.
If you have enjoyed the adventures of Becky Bloomwood - you will enjoy this!!!!!

This is the second book that I've read by Ms. Kinsella and yes, I'm very much aware that I'm doing it out of order but I still find Becky Bloomwood to be a great and quirky character.

Since I've yet to read the first in this series I have not really had anything to judge it by. I found this story to be another light read that does not require brain surgery. For those that keep comparing this author to Helen Fielding I say Stop. This is unfair to both author's since they have each carved out rather unique, funny, and likable characters. Brigit is nothing like Becky except they both come from England! Move on.

I have found that there are really few "Chick-Lit" books out their that I find worth reading. Those that I do find I crow about! Becky is a ditz, Luke is a prince (okay I would like if there was just a little more to this romance but hey beggers can't be choosers!) and I thought the way he proposed was so sweet and romantic! Becky's life is funny and who can't at time relate to her?

For a light read that will help pass the time Ms. Kinsella is an author that I would highly recommend!
