This book is about a young girl Winnie Foster and her meeting an acquaintance with a family that shares an important secret. Winnie decides early one morning to take a walk in a wood her family owns. As she walks she comes to a boy name Jesse Tuck. Jesse and Winnie talk when finally Jesse's family comes, and
Kidnaps Winnie. Winnie ends up in the Tucks temporary home. Jesse's mom and dad Mae and Angus explain to Winnie why they kidnapped her, which has a effect on a serious secret the Tucks share, that know one can reveal.
I think Winnie Foster's perspective on life changed a lot throughout the book. I also feel I have a different perspective on life. In the book I really enjoyed how mentally fast Winnie grew up.
I think Natalie Babbitt the author, tried to tell readers that it's not so bad to live for a certain time, and if you didn't die how hard it would be to live. I liked this book because of how the author made the characters thoughts be real. It was very well written, and had many imaginative events.
