Would you like to know: what it means to be blessed, the meaning of life and how Jesus intended for us to live it, how peaceful and loving your life can be without anger or contempt, the real meaning of the beatitudes, why a rich man can enter heaven after all, understand the conditions that are justification for divorce, and what life after death is all about?

These and many more aspects of living one's life are covered fully in this book. I believe that anyone who reads this book and takes it to heart will have a life changing experience. Dallas Willard has done a remarkable job in making Jesus' message realistic and understandable. So simply stated and so essential to one's life.

I had to read the book twice in order to reinforce my understanding of the message.

My only criticism is that it is sometimes ponderous and repetitive and yet somehow such detail and repetition is the strength of the book.

Simply the most brilliant, profound work on Christianity of modern times that the church so desperately needs to hear. Willard lovingly points readers toward a truer understanding of Jesus Christ and the life He intends for us--removing misconceptions and misrepresentations that have clouded the gospel and disillusioned many Christians and seekers alike. It answers those questions you feel tugging at your spirit but can't always identify, or possibly are to afraid to ask.

I am thankful beyond words to Dr. Willard, and heartily agree with Foster--it truly is "the book I have been searching for all of my life."

Be prepared to search your soul...the journey is well worth the effort. If you savor this book and read for "understanding" of not only the words but of how they apply to your life. You will find yourself, examining exactly how you are living out God's purposes for your life. I HIGHLY recommend using the workbook as you read along, it will give you direction and guide you past the surface of yourself to find Him living in you...and how you can live in Him.
