There's a bookstore down the road from where I work thats open till midnight on weekends. I like to go in and spends hours reading the Neil Gaiman novels and the Calvin and Hobbes collections. Bookstores are so great.

Another bookstore lover chimes in ...

Bookstores are so awesome! What could possibly be "geeky" about enjoying a place where the thoughts of the greatest thinkers of humanity are yours for the browsing?

In a good-sized bookstore, you can find everything from muscle magazines to seashell field guides to the history of Zen Buddhism.

Which of the above is geeky?

I wish there were more of them (bookstores) around.

Aren't they called libraries?

I love bookstores too. Whenever we go in we all disappear into our favourite sections and don't emerge for hours.

I couldn't work in a book store. I'd get fired for reading all the books and not getting any work done.

At least, that's what happened when I was a librarian in primary school...

lol.

I love the fact that bookshops often provide comfy chairs for you to sit in. You could just stop by the shop every day for an hour or so and read an entire book without ever buying it!

I agree, I love spending time in bookstores. Some stores have recently had coffee shops added to them, tub I prefer to absorb random chapters/paragraphs of books from a wide range of books.

A problem with sitting and reading in a bookstore is that I would fall asleep before long...
