The Imperial Fora was a series of fora constructed in the centre of Rome during the time of the Roman empire. The Roman Forum, or Forum Magnum was a seperate construction used when Rome was a Republic, although with much the same use. They were public squares where commerce and the administration of Justice took place. Other cities and towns copied this with Forums of their own and in modern parlance, a forum is somewhere to discuss things without distraction or inhibition.

yeah, originally it was for judging people, so pple put forward their ideas and were judged upon. Now the judgings kinda gone, so its just a place where lots of pple come to put forward ideas. And discuss them. So yes, to chat!

There's a tone similar to sarcasm, tub I agree, I see no actual sarcasm. I'd call it something more like... I don't know. Someone linguistic come along and describe the tone of voice imbodied here!
