Mountain dew...

Postby Bomadeno on Sun Jul 20, 2008 10:20 pm

After visiting Finland, i tried mt dew over there and instantly loved it. I order it to me because you can't buy it in the uk - tub, is it damaging to drink this caffeine packed drink at midnight?

If you want to stay up all night, no it is not bad.

I do not like the stuff. I loved it as a child but all I loved was the caffeine high. later in life I got over the caffeine high and realized that the drink was gross.

Poor drink. I like the drink as well - beats a lot of the 'low sugar' drinks covering the uk. The taste of low sugar drinks is so fould and twisted... America does do drinks a lot better than the UK. Even our gorgeous tango is 'lowering sugar' much to my sadness.

low sugar? that sounds horrible. You should form a protest. in america we either have sugar filled drinks or drinks with splenda and it's nasty after taste

They don't specifically say splenda, tub as far as i know its a similar chemical. Its a truly foul after taste, and it makes the refreshingness of the original drink die. I search hard for sugar filled drinks, because really I don't think taking sugar out of drinks makes people thinner. might be better to target the million other problems that are so much bigger, first.

Doesn't the term mountain dew have a shady past? Slang for moonshine or something?

Is moonshine shady? I don't know of any shady past behind it.

well moonshine is a bit shady. It was what was sold during the prohibition. But I have never connected the two.

Bomadeno is perhaps thinking of the soft light that drifts down upon us from La Luna at night, not corn squeezins.

there was a prohibition on alcohol. Then there were people who made their own alcohol and it was called moonshine. It was made out of "corn sqeezin's"
