Isn't it funny how we say something is funny when actually we mean 'sad', 'evil' or 'bizarre' amongst others?

Is funny simply a good fill word when our minds can't think of a better word? Isn't it funny that I used the same phrasing once - now twice, in my thing.

I suppose that sums up why we do it. I agree though... I use 'funny' a lot.

I prefer to use peculiar

"Isn't it peculiar how..."

Funny is a great word and should not be abused as a synonym for sad.

It rhymes nicely with some of my favorite things: money, honey, bunny, etc.

How about "have you noticed that..."

or "do you find it odd that..?"

or could we all just make a conscientious decision to say how we really feel if we're sad say sad so on

Y'know it's funny, but we don't...

But it's true, there simply aren't enough words to describe every emotional state, so we substitute.

How mental (cranially oriented) is that??
