Sometimes when I lose a sock, I just wear another, whether it matches or not.

That explains why we have high divorce rate nowadays....
The mismatched socks, could never become a true pair.
When time is up, one sock will disappear, and you have to match the mismatched with another mistmatched.
It was said without a matched pair, you can never find true love...

I always have three socks. Rarely are any matched. It's a special law of the universe that only applies to me. If I buy new socks, within a week the number will again be three. If I find all my socks new homes, within a week three lost socks will have returned to me. Do you think the universe is trying to tell me something?

One is risky, when one breaks, you are leave with nothing.
Two is unreliable, when one is busy, you won't dare to wash two, fearing that one will break anytime.
Three is the magic, you can use one and wash two, even if one breaks, you still have three for backup... The cycle goes on and on forever.
When I travel, I always take three of everything. If I only have two, I won't dare to wash anything, for fear of unexpected events. So I'm always stinky and dirty. But if I have three, even if I wash something, I still got one backup. So three is the best number. (four is way toooo cumbersome)...
