Narnia

Postby Cherokee_girl on Mon Jan 02, 2006 1:55 pm

Recently I have seen "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" at our local theater. Though it was great and exciting and I want to see it again, I still liked reading all 7 books of The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.

Has anybody read the books or seen the movie?? Did you like them/it??

I've seen the movie and read the first book (the Magicians Nephew), and was wondering how come the movie was so different from the first book. Then I realized the movie was actually for the second book.

I think the movie is pretty good. The four kids are excellent (especially the youngest one). They are all some parody of Bible stories. Although I don't necessarily agree with all the ideas, I still think they handle the stories pretty well.

C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolken were both devote christians and drew parallels in their books on purpose. The Books are great and the move was brilliant. I do hope they make the rest of them.

I love C.S. Lewis and Tolkien. They are some of my favorite books. My mom used to read C.S.Lewis's book out loud to us. She loves them too.!! I used sit and listen and visualize the story in my head. Imagination at work!

I LOVED the movie but the books are usually better. I have all 7 but I haven't read them . . .for a very long time.

There is a little difference in that particulay book. Can't think of them right now, its to early in the morning(5:51 AM here) There are seven books total though and it would be nice if they did them all. I know there are movie versions of them, but they're old with bad animation and such. The first one, The magician's nephew, would explain a lot about narnia and Aslan and even how the Witch came to Narnia.

I read all the books in about a week or so because my dad had 1 big one with all seven. I enjoyed the books, and enjoyed the movie also.

I've read the Lion/Wardrobe deal because people said it was a good book. And it was a pretty entertaining read.

I still like Stephen King's Dark Tower books more, even tho I'm only to the second one (also has seven). The guys missing fingers and toes and is still alive, and helped a cocaine addict from certain death. Woo-hoo.

But still, I've seen/read the Lion/Wardrobe, and I'm gonna get it on DVD when I can cough up the money.
