I make my pancakes with butter.

The first pancake is always a bit of a disaster but after that you and the frypan get into sync and it's YUMMO all the way. My favourite toppings are maple syrup or lemonjuice and sugar.

Philosophers, so we are told, tend to stay up late in cheap, smoky tenement rooms cogitating about prime movers and empirical evidence. They neglect personal hygiene, nutrition and the finer points of grand cuisine, including the wonders of great pancakes.

Of course, we could be told wrong.

You may be right! Socrates, Plato and Aristotle never mentioned pancakes at all........... nor did Descates, nor Hobbes , nor any others that I can recall reading.

This philosophical pancake neglect bothers me a great deal. I will meditate upon it and send out for maple syrup.

Ah, but in your search for sweetness, don't be fooled by cheap corn syrup and water concoctions, which are merely the forms of the great Ideal beyond the cave, genuine New England maple syrup.

Pimienta is having a hard week. She is broke, she has only fake maple syrup in her cupboard and the worms of spring have convinced her that penguins are evil. The PFC sorrows on this grey and somber day.

But summer is a-comin' in, and all will soon be well.
