Yeah. A week into vacation and I'm already bored. Most of my time is spent sitting on my ass watching TV. I should go for some walks, or terrorize people I know. It'd be fun . . .

Is it too late to send a belated YAY You?

And congratulations on your bored vacation. And I hope you find some victim to terrorize (You don't live around my area, right?)...

Unfortunatly (sometimes) he lives 6 blocks from me. So when he's playing his flute or piccolo outside, I can hear him at home.

Yikes, what a nightmare.

Does he have his case open on the pavement, hustling for nickels and dimes???

No, I do not. Although, not a bad idea.

I DO actually have an event to go to this summer. Unfortunately, it's not until August. I'm going to Albequerque (?). Yay me.

Other than that, all I have is the Ibert Concerto to practice. Arrgh. . . (I'm a pirate!)

He probably could if he went a few blocks down the street and sat a corner along Main Street. He'd probably get more than nickles and dimes.

OH MY GOD!!

I just got a call today from my teacher, and she had the best news I've had in a while, and it made my day, today. No one can guess what it is. It's impossible, there's no way. . . oh, screw it, I'll just tell you!

The call today had good news, and bad news. The bad news is that someone else is going to play in the Sunriver Music Foundation's Concerto Concert (which isn't really bad news -- the girl who is playing deserves it.) The really, really, REALLY GREAT NEWS is that an anonymous donor is donating $6000 to me for a new flute!!! NO WAY!!!!

I HAVE to go to Albequerque (?) now, I can try out as many flutes as I want! IT'S GONNA BE SOOO FUN!!!!!!!

AAAAAAHHHH!!!!!

A flute costs $6,000.00???????

*drops dead*

Congratulations, amazing! Woo and hoo!

(Kids make hundreds of dollars on a daily basis playing classical instruments on street corners. You just need someone to clear out the flute case regularly so that no-one robs you.)

A really nice flute and a custom head joint can cost more than $6,000. But you can get both for less than $6,000. I found out yesterday from symphonious personally. I have to go to his house a practice too...

Why don't you both try busking?

We have a small group of kids that play in the city centre and they rake in a fortune. Their parents sit unobtrusively nearby and collect the money as it gets to much in their open violin case..........

You guys are on holidays, bumming around doing nothing much.
A couple of others from the band might join in too. You could try it for a laugh. :D

Erm........ are you allowed to busk over there?

Heaps of people do it here, it's a great tourist attraction.

Yes, you are allowed to do it, at least you are in Washington. I was at a Farmer's Market (It's where a bunch of farmers and craft-makers, etc. get together to sell their finished products for those of you who don't know what it is.)

I watched a kid playing the violin make about $200 bucks in 1 hour, lucky SOB. Symphonious would make a lot of money doing it.
