Do frazzles really deserve an ode?

Postby Bomadeno on Fri Jul 11, 2008 10:45 pm

A question that has arisen since the radio had an ode to frazzles. Sure they're nice, but I find them too salty -are they really deserving of the time taken to write an ode to them?

Would you write an ode to any food?

I would write an ode to peanut m&ms but I have not yet

here I will try:

oh my dear peanut M&Ms
How I so love you
Sorting you by color
eating first brown
then red
and so on in the order of the rainbow
though many do not understand
what it is to sort M&Ms
Oh I do love you
Sorting and all

For those who know not what frazzles are:

Frazzles are basically a bacon flavour crisp. They have a melt in the mouth texture, and are very strongly flavoured. They are fairly cheap as crisps go.

And that was quite something.. I too like m&ms, tub prefer the none peanut ones. I sort to a lesser degree - its a habit I have from other sweets, which I carry out on all elements of food. Green should be eaten first, then yellow, etc.

Though some sweet companies have started making yellow a tasty pineapple flavour.. what a dilemma.

yellow being tasty pineapple sounds better than yellow being a not so tasty banana

They are, certainly. Yellow being lemon was pretty bad too, as it left ulcers in your mouth (not too fun). And it tasted.. not fitting with other flavours. Green is still horrid as a flavour though, I've not encountered a truly taste green flavoured sweet (mints and green m&ms don't count)

I loved Jelly Bellies when I was younger. Mimicked of course in Harry Potter by Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, they, while not having flavours like earwax - thankfully - did have a multitude of flavours and I loved to combine them in imitation of real recipies. I think they even published recipie combinations...

I may get around to writing an ode to them if the inspiration stikes me. (After putting a bandage on, of course.)

Wow, thats ... disturbing ...

I wonder how they tested that their earwax flavour really tasted like earwax ...?

And why would anyone want to eat a vomit flavoured one?? just the smell makes me feel ill!

Sardines, on the other hand - mmm delicious.

Sardines....ewww, that is gross. As gross as the rest if you ask me. Although if you got a toddler who picks his nose to eat booger flavor, i'm sure he'd like it.

Well I don't know about in a jelly belly, but I love them in tomato sauce on toast! (Sardines that is, not bogies.)

A friend of mine has had a vomit flavoured one btw, apparently they just taste a bit sour - which is a bit of a relief I spose!

Not bogies... I struggle to believe that. *Peers at Insanity Test while he picks his nose, gawps at it and chews it*
