What books had the biggest impact on you (other than scriptures such as the Bible and Koran)?

Although several fiction and non-fiction books have had an impact on me, the biggest influence in the last 10 years (or so) is probably Man and His Symbols by Carl Jung.

The thing that I particularly like about the book is that it was not written for the professional psychologist but for the layperson, which I am.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Teeth - I must have read this book over and over countless times, it's an excellent book. It's written about the place I grew up in, in London, not so far from where I used to live and the lives you read in this book, was something I grew up around which is why it was brought so close to home knowing that everyone has a story and a background to them.

http://www.icons.org.uk/theicons/collection/alice/features/bad-alice This a book that is written so well, yet so tragically and poignantly, and has many twists in it's tail - it leaves a long lasting imprint on you long after you read it, its just an amazingly written book...I first this as a teen of about 15, and it really makes you realise you have to look beyond the surface at times, and not everything is as it seems.
