What is the meaning of life?

Postby buggy on Tue Mar 29, 2005 9:40 am

OK, let's start again. What is the meaning of life?

Does life mean anything?
Does anything mean life?
Does mean life anything?

We shall avoid eating or sleeping until we find the answer, because I think it's the most important question in the Universe.

i just looked up life in the dictionary, i was going to writ it here but decided not to when i saw that it has a very long definition, there are 31 different defintions of it, but i will put the shortest one here
shortest defintion of life=Working from nature or using a living model

my personal thought of what the meaning of life might be is to help the worl acheive world peace as much as we possably can by ourselves. If everyone worked to acheive world peace, we would have to get pretty darn close pretty darn fast.
-OR-

To eat ALOT of cake
personaly i hope its the second one

I don't like cake.

Cake is dry. I prefer pie... or ICE CREAM! (I loooove ice cream)

Are we drifting off topic again? Or am I... Yes. I am. Stay on topic.

Meaning of life is to want to attain a higher understanding, tub to be happey with never knowing everything.

Here is another question:

Why is knowing the meaning of life so important?

Answer me that!

Because it's the foundation of all our daily choices. We are the kind animals who always ask why before we do something. So we are called AOW (Animal of Why). Like why we eat cakes, why we bath, why go to school, why feed the squirrels etc etc. If the why cannot be satisfyingly answered, we lose our motivation and a lots of squirrels might die because of that. That's why it's such a important question to answer.

Hope I've answered the why of your why.

I still don't understand the modivation part. If all that is motivating you is what your purpose is, then how do you ever relax? I mean, If you worrie all the time about what it is you are saposed to be doing and not out there doing it, Whats the point?

I think the meaning of life is to be the best person you can be no matter what

If being a pyro (Chazoa) is the best you can be
then you should be happy

But now, what if being the best you can be in something that you really don't like? Do you really want to devote all of that time to become the best at it if you don't like it? Or maybe you should be the best you can be at something you like. I like chameleons. Maybe I should become the best I could be in chameleontology? Now you have to ask, is that really the meaning in life?

I agree!

I agree - tub I think anyone who knows Chazoa personally will be beginning to wish he'd stop fulfilling his meaning so well (as his town burns) (hey isn't your town burns) (maybe chazoa is in your town!)

In this post i was agreeing with Pimienta

I can't even see trumpet prodigys' theory.

Pimienta's theory is similar to mine - sort of a mutation on the same base.

Unfortunately, this theory has it's limitation. Since it specifically only refers to a person, it doesn't include things like squirrels, gold fish, chimpanzee, polar bears and elephants. They too have meaning of life and they can't really be a best "person".
