Moths

Postby Bomadeno on Thu May 26, 2005 9:17 pm

I really really hate moths. So much. The way they flutter and flitter. I think I am in fact developing a phobia of them almost.

Moths

Moths are altruism creatures, they know people don't like them, so they always dash into some fire to kill themselves. They should be praised not hated.

I don't like most bugs, but doing an aquatic insect study helped. maybe you could do an insect study to help you get over your fear of moths....

The native american myth I have heard is about how moths lost their color. It goes something like this.

Long ago moths were colorful; as colorful as the butterflies. Then one day the spirits were sad and no one knew why; the tears of the spirits rained down constantly. The moths had a brilliant idea. Why not use their colors to cheer the spirits up? They could ask their cousins, the butterflies, to help. All the moths agreed and one of them went to ask the butterflies for some of their colors. The butterflies said they would not give their color away, no matter who it was for; they were very vain.
The moths decided to do it on their own. They got together and, using their many brilliant colors, formed a colorful stripe across the sky, a rainbow. The moths used all the colors they had except brown. They said it was not pretty enough to be in their rainbow. When the spirits saw the beautiful colors they stopped crying and were happy once again.
To this day, when moths are first born, they still have their many bright colors. But when the spirits get sad, they use them and become the brown we see. So do not think of moths as ugly, just giving.

This is the best I can remember it. But if I remember anything else, I will update this tale.
