hybrids

what do you all think of hybrid animals, like ligers and tions and zonkeys and all? Is it wrong for them to be? I think so.

Hybrids are not usually that dramatic. The species should be relatively similar to be hybridized. And, the hybrid animals are usually bigger, stronger, healthier, and over all better than the two parents. One problem with hybrids happening naturally is that when you are attempting to conserve a gene pool, and animals create hybrids, you are losing the original gene pool and can never go back. I am talking about the bull trout/brook trout problem here in Logan Valley, OR. (we studied those fish in school).

It doesn't seem to be so with some hybrids, eg the ligers are much bigger but don't live as long as the parents. and the tions are smaller than either parent and also don't live as long...it think they're pretty dramatic...lookies! freaks!

Yes, especially the rare and beautiful barramundgarigah, Australia's national hybrid emblem (well I think it should be).

Seriously though it depends if the hybrids are being bred for a specific purpose (mules) in which case they may combine desirable characteristics from both parents, or if they're just for freak value/looking pretty (ligers), in which case physical strength might not matter as much.

Also, there's the problem that is the exact opposite of the one trumpetprodigy mentioned, which is that a lot of the hybrid animals can't breed at all. Mules certainly can't.

Do I approve of hybrids? Yes, cause Ligers are purtee.

Yes, many hybrids may not reproduce. Some can.
One positive hybrid are sex-linked chickens. They are a cross between to species of chickens, and at birth you can tell if they are male or female (hence the name). They are egg laying machines. Those are the kind of chickens we have. We sell eggs to mathnerd. By the way, mathnerd, do you need any eggs?

A village? and a ghost? I have never seen those on ebay.
Sometimes I buy computer games their. A lot cheaper. I'm sorry I am off topic.

I don't think people sell hybrids on ebay.

Shhh! Don't tell anyone. We wouldn't want the poor scientist to be dragged away by the men in white coats.
