TOD 2005/10/26 - Flamming

Postby Bomadeno on Fri Nov 04, 2005 3:21 am

Recently there has been a significant upsurge in a thing known as flamming.

This is when people within a forum start getting angry at, or offensive towards other people, and is getting to an intolerable level.

I am now going through the forums, removing comments of such nature - somewhat against policy of free speech, but if you don't want it to happen, maybe you should think twice before you post.

If some of the persistent offenders continue, it wouldn't take much to introduce a temporary or permanent ban on your account - its happened before, it can happen again.

Update:
If you need to report something, the link in my signature should take you to the emergeny centre... other members of the police, I'll pm you the link.

Act the ham?

Make friends with Sam?
Watch Emeril bam?
Consume leftover Spam?
Say, "Thank you, Ma'am?"
Ride the tram?

One of my favourite forums has been completely ruined by two people who flamed each other through just about every active thread. The admin did nothing to halt the problem and most of the other posters left.

Flaming is not funny or hip or anything good. It is just plain rude and inconsiderate.
