Being king sucks. You have to live in a drafty old castle with straw on the floor, and wear that stupid heavy crown, and take the blame when your soldiers get their butts kicked by the barbarian invaders from the east. Plus you might end up having to marry your sister or your first cousin and your son just might rub you out if he gets impatient for the throne.

Are you sure, punk04, that you are up to the challenge?

Don't be a king

Postby nil on Wed Jan 04, 2006 7:58 pm

Kings usually have a miserable life. The queens, on the other hand, fare much better. Look at the Queen of England: She lives a long life, have many kids, can give medals to anyone she like. Not to mention gigantic jewelries, free entrance to events, and many fringe benefits...

So you might consider to be a queen instead of a king.

Well, there's a thought!

She is treated mostly respectfully, but her son, the future king, has been mercilessly pooh-poohed from quite early in his life. I think it began when he blithely announced that he liked to talk to plants.....

Do you also like vegetation, punk04? (I wouldn't mention it if you do... seems to lead to all sorts of trouble.)

I think in order to be king you have to have won every debate. that isn't possable. so in my book, you shall forever be knight of the debate.
